Privacy Policy — Renovation Defenders

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Renovation Defenders, LLC ("Renovation Defenders," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Renovation Defenders website at renovationdefenders.com and our related services (the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

If you have questions, contact us at privacy@renovationdefenders.com.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to operate the Services and provide our education, tools, and contractor consultation offerings.

Information you provide

  • Account information — your name and email address when you create an account, and a password (stored only in encrypted/hashed form).
  • Booking and consultation details — information you submit when you schedule a contractor consultation or booking, such as your name, contact details (which may include a phone number), and any project information you choose to provide.
  • Purchases — records of products, courses, or consultations you buy (payment card details are handled by Stripe — see Section 2).
  • Tools and submissions — information you enter into features such as the price estimator, and any content you submit (for example, "My Renovation Disaster" videos or votes).
  • Communications — information you provide when you contact us for support.

Information collected automatically

  • Course and enrollment activity — which courses or modules you have access to and your progress through them, so we can deliver your content.
  • Basic device and security information — information necessary for the Services to function and for security (for example, a secure session/authentication token and basic device or browser information).
  • Analytics and advertising data — we use Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which automatically collect usage information such as the pages you visit, links you click, your approximate location and IP address, device and browser type, and cookie or similar identifiers. Microsoft Clarity additionally captures how you interact with our pages — such as mouse movements, clicks, taps, and scrolling — to generate aggregated heatmaps and session recordings that help us understand and improve the site experience. Clarity masks the text you enter into form fields by default, and passwords are always masked. This helps us understand how the site is used and measure our marketing. See Section 3 (Cookies and Tracking) and Section 6 (How We Share Information).

2. Payments

Purchases are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full payment card details. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy). We receive only a confirmation of purchase and a record of what you bought so we can grant you access.

3. Cookies and Tracking

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies, which fall into three categories:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to work, such as keeping you signed in and protecting against fraud. These cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to help us understand how visitors use the site, including through aggregated heatmaps and session recordings.
  • Advertising cookies — set by the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure and improve our advertising and to help show relevant ads on Meta platforms.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) and manage ad personalization through your Meta account settings and your device's ad settings. Microsoft Clarity processes this information under Microsoft's privacy statement (https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement), which describes how Microsoft handles the data and the choices available to you.

4. Scheduling

Consultation and booking scheduling is handled by Calendly. When you schedule through our Services, the information you submit is processed by Calendly under its own privacy policy (https://calendly.com/privacy).

5. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • create and manage your account and authenticate you;
  • deliver the courses, content, tools, and services you purchase or access;
  • schedule and fulfill contractor consultations and bookings;
  • process payments and maintain records of your purchases;
  • measure and analyze how the Services are used, and improve them;
  • conduct and measure marketing and advertising, including through the Meta Pixel;
  • provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the Services; and
  • comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use analytics and advertising technologies (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the Meta Pixel) that share certain usage information with Google, Microsoft, and Meta as described in this Policy; depending on your jurisdiction, this activity may be considered "sharing" for targeted advertising, and you can opt out as described in Section 3.

6. How We Share Information

We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the Services — such as our cloud hosting provider, Stripe (payments), Calendly (scheduling), Google (analytics), Microsoft (analytics), and Meta (advertising measurement) — who may use it only as needed to provide services to us or as described in their own privacy policies;
  • Legal and safety recipients, when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others; and
  • Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services and to meet our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and update — you can review and update your account information in your profile.
  • Delete your account — you can delete your account and associated personal data directly in your profile under Profile → Delete Account, or by emailing us at privacy@renovationdefenders.com.
  • Cookies and tracking — you can opt out of analytics and advertising cookies as described in Section 3.
  • Privacy rights — depending on where you live (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the EU/UK under the GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing or sharing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and secure storage of authentication credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International Users

We operate in the United States, and your information will be processed and stored in the United States. By using the Services, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
